The community, friends, and family will gather in prayer at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church to receive Joseph Leon, 42, of Lawton at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, followed by a Rosary for the Deceased; a Funeral Mass will immediately follow at Blessed Sacrament with Fr. Felix Kumai from St. Barbara’s Catholic Military Community presiding.
Carl passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2024, at his home in Lawton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Carl will be laid to rest at Woodlawn National Cemetery, in Elmira, New York at a later date.
Carl was born on July 28, 1982, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Thomas and Sarah (Falk) Leon. He grew up in Lawton where he attended school, graduating from MacArthur High School in 2001. Carl loved Legos, playing video games, and watching movies. He enjoyed watching football and liked the Dallas Cowboys and OU Sooners. He was a member of Grierson Hill Chapel and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
He is survived by his father, Thomas Leon, of the home; his siblings and their spouses, Gary Leon, of Deltona, FL, Theresa and Charles Aponte, of Clarksville, TN, Michael and Teresa Leon, of Summertown, TN, Christopher and Michelle Leon, of Oklahoma City, OK, Martin and Laura Leon, of Marianna, FL, Gerard Leon, of Chickasha, OK, Matthias Leon, of Ocala, FL, and Cecilia and Nathan Williams, of Owasso, OK; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Leon; and his siblings, Patricia Leon, Patrick Leon, Peter Leon, and Mary Grace Leon.
