Glen Edward Clark

October 5, 1938 ~ October 10, 2024

Duncan, OK

On October 10, 2024, Glen Clark left his Parkinson-ridden body to be in the presence of Jesus and his family.

Glen entered this life, on October 5, 1938, with his parents, Lester and Jewel Clark. He attended Woodrow Wilson and Roosevelt Elementary, Lawton Central High, and graduated from Lawton High School in 1957. While there, he joined the National Guard and served for 6 years. He attended Cameron College for a semester and then went to work full-time for Knox Jensen Dodge.

On May 12, 1960, he married Brenda Morgan and out of that marriage, they had two children, Lori and Bryan. In 1964, he opened “Glen’s Auto Parts” in Lawton. In 1968, he closed the store and went to work for Eddie Cordes Jeep and Dodge as a service manager. He worked briefly at the Goodyear Plant but in 1978, he went to work at the Lawton Vo-Tech as the small engine instructor who loved working and mentoring the young people. After several years he moved to the “Parts Department” and retired there in 2004 after 25 years.

Brenda passed away in 2002 and he married Sandra Vestal in October 2003 and moved to Grove, OK. They sold their home on the lake and went in an RV full time, traveling south for the winter where they made many friends who played games and made music with. They lived in the RV for 5 years and when evidence of Parkinson’s came, they decided to settle full-time in Duncan.

He was a member of Lawton First Assembly for more than 20 years, playing his guitar for the choir. After moving to Duncan, he attended New Hope Baptist Church West and enjoyed being a greeter for 8 years until COVID-19 arrived and changed everything. He also enjoyed working in the church kitchen and visiting with the men.

His other interests were fishing, playing his guitar, classic cars, singing gospel songs with many friends, and spending time with his family.

For the past few years, he has struggled with the effects of Parkinsons Disease, falling many times, fracturing a hip once, and having many cuts and bruises but always saying he was okay. Today, he is no longer struggling but enjoying the presence of Jesus and his family.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Nathan Clark; and nieces: Cathy Griffin and baby Cynthia Clark.

Survivors include his wife, Sandi; children: Lori Ingraham (Bill), and Bryan Clark; stepchildren: Cheryl and Connie Vestal; sisters: Joann Clark (David), Sarita Blackburn, Teresa Lee (David); and sister-in-law, Janice Strange; grandchildren: Aaron Stephenson, Amanda McBride, Lauren Clark; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 niece; and 6 nephews.

A memorial service is planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 17, at New Hope Baptist Church West with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
