The Stephens County Sheriff Office is warning residents about a phone scam targeting area residents. According to an online post, people have been receiving calls that tell them that they missed a court date and demanding that they pay a fee.
What is more problematic is that the call will say it is coming from the sheriff’s office. Officials are encouraging residents not to fall for it.
