Donald Wayne Chaffin, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Marlow.

Donald was born on December 23, 1940, in Fort Worth, Texas to Wallace and Neva (Carter) Chaffin. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1959 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. On January 3, 1964, Donald married the love of his life, Janet, in Duncan, Oklahoma. In 1966, they moved to Colorado where Donald worked as a Parts Manager for Cherry Creek Schools. They moved back to Oklahoma in 2004 after retiring, spending a couple of years in Rush Springs before settling back in Duncan. They enjoyed over sixty years together before his passing. Donald was a hard worker; he enjoyed time spent woodworking as well as stacking countless ricks of wood alongside Janet. Donald also liked to relax and look at nature, but most of all, he liked spending time with his family. He especially cherished any time spent with his granddaughters, and he was very proud to be their grandfather. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Chaffin of the home, son, Jeff Chaffin, and wife, Mindy, of Rush Springs, three granddaughters, Chelsi and husband, Alex, of Oklahoma City, Ashlyn and husband, John, of Rush Springs, and Madisyn and husband, Michael, of Rush Springs, two great-grandchildren, Damon and M.J., as well as another on the way, cousin, Bob Durham of Wichita Falls, TX, and nephew, Brent Bailey of Duncan.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Neva Chaffin.
