On Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m., the Charis Center is hosting its 9th Annual Comedy and Coffee fundraiser at the Simmons Center. Charis is Greek for kindness and grace.
The Charis Center’s mission is to treat and help anyone that comes through their doors and provide them with kindness, dignity, and love.
Kimberla Treat, Executive Director, said the event will be a comedy featuring Kerri Pomarolli, a stand-up comedian. Pomarolli has appeared on Netflix, Hallmark, and The Tonight Show.
Viridian Coffee Company will provide hot and iced coffee and Special Days Cake Boutique will provide cakes. There will also be live entertainment and a photo booth.
The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:15 p.m.
To buy tickets, go to the Charis Center, Simmons Center, or Eventbrite. Tickets are $35 per person and $50 for two people. Tickets cost $45 at the door on the day of the event.
Treat said that the event is not only to meet their budget but also to stay open to provide a safe place to help parents and provide supplies for their children
“In light of all the craziness in the world right now,” Treat said, “we all need a night of laughter and the joy of knowing we are helping moms, dads, and precious babies — and who can turn down coffee and cake?”
