It Must Be Fall

In Duncan, you can tell it is Fall or getting close to Fall, not because of the temperature, but by spying the gigantic 12-foot-tall skeleton and werewolf overlooking Highway 81 and Wisteria Avenue. You can also tell it is fall because Walmart is setting up and making available Christmas decorations, gifts, and other holiday items.
Fall begins next week, actually on Sunday, September 22nd, at 7:44 a.m. central time. Daylight saving time will end on Sunday, November 3rd.
The Halloween display at 1413 Wisteria, located just north of Elk and across the street from Elk Plaza is a fall favorite and probably the most extensive in Duncan and the surrounding area. Jason and Sharon Hunt are responsible for the display.
“We’ve been doing this for six or seven years,” said Sharon Hunt. “We purchase new items to add every year, and still have new items coming for this year’s display.”
The display features several extremely tall creatures, animated and talking skeletons, jack-o-lanterns, witches, ghosts, and other characters. Many light up making quite a showing.
Walmart and other retail stores are stocked on fall and Halloween decorations, candy, and costumes to celebrate the season.
