Gene Edward McCauley, 82, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 in Wichita Falls, TX.
Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, with Reverend Dee Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services of Marlow, Oklahoma.
Gene was born Friday, October 31, 1941 in Marlow, to Marvin and Irene (Stark) McCauley. He graduated from Marlow High School in 1959 and he lived in the area all of his life. Gene loved the rodeo life, and he enjoyed everything from riding horses and roping calves to running the chutes. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.and he loved Chocolate Cake. Gene was well-known in the area, and he always had some friends to drink coffee with and tell jokes too at the Day Break Diner. Gene had a quick wit, a sweet smile and a great personality that people enjoyed being around. Gene’s impact on his family and community will be long remembered..
Survivors include his five sons,and 1 daughter : Rick McCauley and wife, Vickie, of Comanche, Richard McCauley and wife, Darla, of Waurika, his daughter, Debbie Manley and husband, Robert, of Springer, Rodney McCauley and wife Jeri Donn, of Comanche, David McCauley and wife, Tracey, of Marlow, and Jacob McCauley and wife, Jordan, of Duncan; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl McCauley and wife, Bonnie, of Marlow and Roy McCauley of Marlow; three sisters, Lou Ann Stiles and husband Renick, of Olympia Washington , Hazel Eisenlohr and husband, Ike, of Marlow, and Joy Woods and husband David, of Marlow; sister-in-law, Pat McCauley of Marlow; brother-in-law, Bobby Mayes of Marlow; and several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Buck McCauley and William McCauley; four sisters, Caroline Whisler, Judy Mayes, Patricia Long, and Wanda Marie McCauley; his brother-in-law, Bruce Long; and his great-granddaughter, Evelyn Watson.
Pallbearers will include Barry McCauley, Jason McCauley, Greg Sanders, Jimmy Saunders, David Woods Jr., and Jody Woods.
Honorary pallbearers will include Mike Anderson, Ryan Jerrett, Terry Roden, Jerry Ray, Jim Chaffin, John Long, Rob Eisenlohr, Kirby Kelly, Rodney Wilson, and Randy Hay.
