A Stephens County school is adding a journalism class to their curriculum. The journalism class at Empire High School in Stephens County plans to introduce students to daily, local, and national news through partnerships with local news organizations.

Students are also learning how to conduct interviews, research and write news stories as well as the basics of photography.

Scott Smith, who is teaching the class, said he hopes the new class will broaden the perspective of students in regard to what is going on in the world around them.
