Parking was a premium around the offices of the Stephens County Election Board on Wednesday as 954 Voters cast ballots in the first day of early voting. That is about three times the number of early voters in previous elections and Wednesday was just the first day of four early voting days this period.

Some voters waited up to two hours to cast their ballots preceding the November 5th General Election. Citizens were voting on a limited ballot which include the Presidential race, the election of Fourth District Congressman, the retention of State Judges, and two State Questions. Also, those living in Oklahoma Senate District 43 were selecting a senator for that position.

Although early voting was set to end at 6 pm, those in line were allowed to vote, the last voter after 6:45 according to information from the Stephens County Election Board.

Other County Election Boards reported record turnout throughout the state on Wednesday.

Early voting continues at Election Board Offices throughout the State Thursday and Friday from 8 am to 6 pm, and again on Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.

Precinct voting will be Tuesday, November 5th from 7 am to 7 pm.
