Melissa Dutton, a loving and friendly soul known for her thoughtfulness, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, in Lindsay, OK. Born on October 24, 1961, in Marlow, OK, Melissa was a proud graduate of Marlow High School and devoted her life to being a caring housewife, nurturing her family with unmatched dedication.
An avid fisher who found joy in the simplicity of nature, Melissa’s happiest moments were spent with a rod in hand or playing with her dogs. Her legacy of love and warmth will be carried on through the laughter and stories shared by her family. Melissa’s radiant spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Visitation will be available from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Cremation and all other arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services.
Melissa is survived by her beloved husband, Howard Dutton, of the home; her son, Shawn Holt, of Meridian; her cherished grandchildren, Seth and Alexia Holt; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Mary (McClearen) Holt, her brother Johnnie Holt, and her sister Julia Holt.
