Local broadband communications provider Sparklight recently awarded sponsorships to the nonprofit organizations Beautiful Day Foundation and Douglass Community Center through its Charitable Giving Fund. Beautiful Day was awarded $5,000 and Douglass was awarded $1,500.
Both nonprofits were among 26 throughout Sparklight’s 24-state footprint.
Beautiful Day initiative Kindred Community will use the funds to help their organization connect with widows who live in the community. Kelsey Roberts, Beautiful Day executive director, said the award will continue the Kindred Community’s legacy and help them provide a safe and welcoming space for widows.
The Douglass Community Center will use their award to help purchase food and supplies for its lunch program.
The Charitable Giving Fund prioritizes education, food insecurity, digital literacy and community development when they award their annual grants. For additional information, go to www.sparklight.com/charitablegiving.
