Willoe Mae (Gold) Waldroop was born June 17, 1926, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Nancy “Louise” Gold. She was surrounded in love by her family as she passed on October 25, 2024, in Duncan, Oklahoma.

She attended school in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1942 at the age of 15 years old. At 16 years old, she moved to Oklahoma City and attended business school. Upon graduation, she moved to Hobart, Oklahoma where she worked for several doctors, and lawyers as a legal secretary. She also worked as a medical transcriptionist at Clinton Regional Hospital and retired at 80 years old.

In April of 1947, she met Flois Waldroop and they wed on October 4, 1947. From this union two children were born, a son Ken Waldroop, and a daughter Brenda (Waldroop) Morris.

Willoe Mae was humble and one of the most unselfish people in many ways. She supported and loved her family unconditionally. She helped raise her grandchildren and was always quick to help others financially, but did not want any credit for it. She was joyful, quick-witted, kept up with current events, and always ready to share a lesson or joke. She was a serious Christian and studied her Bible fervently. In place of attending church services, she was a faithful watcher of preachers in TBN. She was a gifted musician and continued playing piano through her final days. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing at church and for special events. She was a member of the Joy Choir in Clinton, Oklahoma, and traveled across the country performing. When speaking to her granddaughter, Willoe Mae said, “I have had a good life.” She will be missed by her family and others whose lives she touched in her 98 years.

Willoe Mae was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and “Louise” Gold, sister; Doris Gold, her husband; Flois Waldroop and two great-great grandsons.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Waldroop) Morris and son-in-law Steven Morris, whom she lived with for the last ten years of her life, and their daughters Jodi Morris, Heather Morris, and Jennifer Morris. Her son Ken Waldroop and his children Elizabeth Waldroop, Emily Waldroop, and Daniel Waldroop, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
