Marlow, OK

Shelley Meredith Rausch, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully and with grace on November 19, 2024, in Ada, Oklahoma, with her husband and children near her. She was 73 years of age.

Shelley was born July 16, 1951, in Pasadena, California. She graduated from Cal Poly with a Bachelor of Science and later graduated with honors from OKC University where she obtained her MBA. Shelley was passionate about her career as a Medical Technician and her management of the blood bank at DRH. She also taught medical terminology and phlebotomy at the Red River Technology Center.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Shelley’s interests were a mirror to her soul. She was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed quilting projects with her husband and grandchildren. Those who knew Shelley will remember her for her witty humor, boundless love for her pets, and unfailing kindness to everyone she met.

Shelley married John Rausch on December 22, 1976, in Santa Monica, where they raised their family until 1986, when as a family, they moved to Marlow so their children could be raised in the country. Shelley had unconditional love for her sons, John-Michael Rausch and his wife Lindsay of Sasakawa and Scott Rausch of Houston, TX, as well as her daughter, Amber McDaniel, with her husband Earl of Decatur, TX. Shelley’s five grandchildren were her pride and joy: Savanna, Belle, Paige McDaniel, Charlie Rausch, and John Riley Rausch, who will carry her spirit and values forward.

The family circle includes her older brothers, Michael Norfleet and his wife Phyllis of Oklahoma, John Norfleet and his wife Joann of Alaska, and her sister, Robin Jimison, with her husband H.L. of California. Shelley’s nieces and nephews were also in her thoughts always.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Euell Roy and Myrtle Edith (Newman) Norfleet, and her sister-in-law, Kay Norfleet.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home with John Norfleet officiating. Burial will follow directly after the service at the Marlow Cemetery.
