On Nov. 8, Duncan Middle School hosted a tribute for veterans. Amie Moore, DMS Assistant Principal, said they decided to hold the event early to let students spend time with their families on Veterans Day.

According to Moore, they wanted to recognize local veterans. Moore said the history club wrote thank-you notes. Veteran Steven Ford spoke to the students. Ford spoke to them about what a veteran is and what they do for the country.

He also spoke to them about the various military branches.

During the ceremony, the Duncan Middle School Music Department played songs to honor the veterans, which included TAPS.
