The funeral Mass for Helga Scarfone was at noon on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Holy Family Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Helga Scarfone, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was born May 8, 1941, in Yugoslavia to Anton and Aglaheid (Schromm) Stach.  She moved to Germany at an early age and married SFC (Retired) Anthony Scarfone on December 21, 1961 in Germany.  He preceded her in death on January 21, 2024

Helga followed her husband in his military career, making Lawton their home.  She had worked at Gibson’s Discount Center, Furr’s Cafeteria, Ashley’s Clothing, and with her husband at Sander’s Hardware.  

Helga was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed crafting and participating in craft shows.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Scarfone, Robert and Gayle Scarfone, and Joseph and Toni Scarfone; nine grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and her sister, Getta.

Her parents, husband, one brother, three sisters, and her beloved dog Misty preceded her in death.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
