Comanche city manager Chuck Ralls announced that he was resigning during the city council meeting on Apr.9. Ralls is going to take a position at Collinsville, Oklahoma. On May 9, his resignation will become official. Ralls has been the City Manager of Comanche since 2016.
The announcement was accompanied by a letter that was addressed to both the mayor and the city council: The letter began with him saying that serving the Comanche community has been both “an honor and a privilege.”
Within the letter, Ralls also commented about his “deepest appreciation for the opportunity.” He also said he was proud of the accomplishments made during his tenure.
Ralls wrote: “Working alongside the dedicated individuals of the council, staff and community members, we have made significant strides (toward) realizing our shared vision for a thriving Comanche. Leaving behind the city that will always be my home and the people who have become my family is undoubtedly one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made. I will deeply miss the daily interactions and the sense of purpose that comes with serving the residents of Comanche.”
Ralls also said that he is confident that he is leaving Comanche knowing that the city is “in a better state” than it was at the time he was hired.
“Comanche is poised for incredible success under the capable leadership of the next city manager, and I have full confidence in the staff’s ability to continue the momentum we have built together,” Ralls said.
